GIRL IN THE BAND is a coming-of-age musical about a woman determined to find her place in the world of music and a world of men. After being fired from a band—again—Peggy finds that she has lost her voice. Literally. Heartbroken and hurt, she picks up a guitar and begins to reconnect to the music within her soul. That one guitar gives way to six other instruments as Peggy not only speaks up for herself, but finds her true voice, singing and soaring in a 75-minute solo performance.
GIRL IN THE BAND is written by Megan Loomis, who has appeared in the Broadway National Tours of War Horse, A Gentlemen’s Guide to Love and Murder, Sweeney Todd and Cabaret. She is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music and plays way more than 7 instruments.
